چکیده
Globe artichoke is one of the most intensively cultivated horticultural species in Mediterranean regions. In this context, sustainable agronomic management a requisite to increase soil carbon content, making cultivation system more resilient climate change. A 10-year experiment was considered forecast influence on C dynamic three globe managements: monoculture with dry crop residues incorporation (conventional monoculture), inclusion cover (alternative and rotation cauliflower plus (biannual rotation). During 2006–2016 period, total organic content plant inputs were measured. RothC model used predict effect stock sequestration potential 20 years managements tested field, hypothetical conventional scenario no residues’ (no residues). Plant increased according number crops each system, resulting 25% lower respect biannual rotation, whereas change significantly higher (p < 0.01) alternative (+ 7.57 7.14 t ha-1) compared (-1.03 ha-1). 20-year predictions, all systems had positive balance. The (t for future + 7.2 0.6 removals. For first time, study, we clearly shown long term perspective that an improper might lead loss fertility soils under climate. adoption needs be evaluated carefully because it proved less efficient terms potential.

متن کاملComplete Chloroplast Genome of the Multifunctional Crop Globe Artichoke and Comparison with Other Asteraceae
With over 20,000 species, Asteraceae is the second largest plant family. High-throughput sequencing of nuclear and chloroplast genomes has allowed for a better understanding of the evolutionary relationships within large plant families. Here, the globe artichoke chloroplast (cp) genome was obtained by a combination of whole-genome and BAC clone high-throughput sequencing. The artichoke cp genom...

The increase in atmospheric concentration of CO2 by 31% since 1750 from fossil fuel combustion and land use change necessitates identification of strategies for mitigating the threat of the attendant global warming. Since the industrial revolution, global emissions of carbon (C) are estimated at 270F 30 Pg (Pg = petagram= 10 g = 1 billion ton) due to fossil fuel combustion and 136F 55 Pg due to...

متن کاملUpdate on Climate Change and Global Crop Productivity The Influence of Climate Change on Global Crop Productivity
Climate trends over the past few decades have been fairly rapid in many agricultural regions around the world, and increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) and ozone (O3) levels have also been ubiquitous. The virtual certainty that climate and CO2 will continue to trend in the future raises many questions related to food security, one of which is whether the aggregate productivity of globa...
